Have you ever wondered how fights are staged on Circle's stage? Have you ever wished you could learn how to fight onstage safely? Now you can! Erik Hall will teach Circle's next master class:

FIGHTING FOR ACTORS
WHEN: Saturday, Aug. 10, 1-4 PM
WHERE: Circle Players, 416 Victoria Ave., Piscataway
TUITION: $20, available online only! HERE

Mr. Hall has many years of experience staging fights on the stages of local theaters, as well as the New Jersey Renaissance Faire, where he was an actor, writer, and director for more than 10 years.

Students will learn proper technique with physical actions they will find useful in many productions.

This includes:

  • Slaps: forehand and backhand
  • Punches: cross, uppercut and jab
  • Knaps: self or first person, secondary, third person
  • Falling: front and rear
  • Kicks, hair pulling, choking
  • Rolling (if time allows)

Students should wear comfortable clothes and sneakers. If you have difficulty kneeling or sensitive knees, knee pads are recommended.

Students will be paired at the end of class to create a “fight” to be presented to the class and critiqued.
