10 Hairy Legs returns to open its second season at RVCCArts. Randy James’ all-male dance company returns after its world debut here one year ago to present an afternoon of stunning repertory including three world premieres: a work by James entitled Martha the King featuring original scenic projections by Kevin Draper; and new works by Tiffany Mills, Artistic Director of Tiffany Mills Company and Benoit-Swan Pouffer, Artistic Director of Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet; and Bull by David Dorfman and Dan Froot.

American Repertory Ballet presents an exciting and elegant evening of world premiere ballets. ARB Resident Choreographer Mary Barton and acclaimed guest choreographer Kirk Peterson have been commissioned to create new works especially for ARB's virtuoso dancers. Barton’s Straight Up With a Twist, Faerie Tyme and Five Men and a Concerto have been favorites on the RVCC stage in recent years, and Peterson’s The Eyes That Gently Touch was called “a contemporary classic” (Robert Johnson, The Star Ledger). Ann Marie DeAngelo’s athletic and eclectic Blackberry Winter will round out the program.

The critically-acclaimed Lustig Dance Theatre (LDT) returns to our stage with another eclectic selection of works. LDT was established in 2010 by internationally recognized choreographer and director, Graham Lustig, and performs an annual repertory at major venues throughout New Jersey. A contemporary ballet company, LDT is recognized for innovative, dynamic performances that promise to “awaken your love of dance!”

American Repertory Ballet brings Douglas Martin’s brand new full length ballet, Romeo and Juliet to The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College. Based on Shakespeare’s tragic story, and set to Prokofiev’s passionate score, Martin’s masterwork is “an ambitious production...emotionally and artistically fulfilling...exuberant and exciting to watch...[and] invites comparisons to other well-known productions,…including…that of Sir Kenneth MacMillan” (Jerry Hochman, Critical Dance) and “an outstanding example of dance being perfectly adapted to dramatic interpretation, with the ARB dancers in full command of their art” (Marina Kennedy, Broadway World).

America's longest-running multicultural song and dance company, the Duquesne University Tamburitzans is a unique ensemble of talented young folk artists dedicated to the performance and preservation of the music, songs, and dances of Eastern Europe and neighboring folk cultures. You’ll experience songs in numerous languages, footwork articulated in an abundance of styles, many authentic folk instruments and over 400 original and authentic and reproduced costumes. The result is a carousel of style and color from the first note to the final stomp and these talented performers bring eastern European folklore to the modern stage.
