Just before departing on an international concert tour of Greece and Turkey, artistic director Dr. Anne J. Matlack and thirty-seven singers will present a concert that includes a selection of eclectic works on singing and soul, from Renaissance to World music, as well as songs of peace and spirituals.

Harmonium departs for Athens on Thursday, June 27. While there, the travelers plan to visit the ancient sites and perform a concert at the world-renowned Acropolis Museum. Another destination in Greece includes Chios Island with a concert in the Homerion Cultural Centre. Following a brief visit to Cesme (Turkey), Harmonium departs for Izmir and presents a concert in Buca Baptist Church. The itinerary includes two days in Istanbul highlighting tours of Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque. Our final tour concert is scheduled at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Istanbul on July 5.

The 2012-2013 concert year marks the 25th Anniversary of Dr. Anne Matlack as Artistic Director of Harmonium. Since 1987 Dr. Matlack's passion for musical excellence and innovative programming has led Harmonium to become one of the finest choral arts organizations in New Jersey.

Dr. Matlack is also organist and choir director at Grace Church in Madison. She was named 2003 Outstanding Arts Professional by the Arts Council of the Morris Area. Under her leadership, Harmonium received national recognition in 2009 by winning the Chorus America Education and Outreach Award. In 2010 the chorus was selected to perform for the Eastern Division Convention of the American Choral Directors Association in Philadelphia and was a finalist for the 2010 American Prize for the Arts.

In July 2011 Harmonium sang at the opening convocation of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) Region II Convention.
