Mini golfThe world according to David Ives is a very odd place, and his plays constitute a virtual stress test of the English language and of the audience’s capacity for disorientation and delight. Ives’ characters plunge into 6 vignettes that aerobicizes the brain and tickles the heart.

Ives is a sharp comic who has put the play back in playwright.

Top: Nick DiDomenico, right, and Mara Scott, left, play two lovelorn Mayflies who realize their lifecycle lasts but one day and lament how to get everything they want into 24 hours.

Right: Jon A Russ, right, and Elaine Fraim D’Addezio, left, discuss the finer points of the game of mini-golf and how it can be a metaphor for dating in Foreplay.
