The critically-acclaimed Lustig Dance Theatre (LDT) returns to The Theatre at RVCC with highlights from their 2012-2013 season. LDT was established in 2010 by internationally recognized choreographer and director, Graham Lustig, and performs an annual repertory at major venues statewide. The troupe of ten dancers will present an eclectic selection of works featuring Lustig’s Appassionato, which he originally created for the Singapore Dance Theatre in 1994. Appassionato is an impassioned response to two piano compositions by Franz Liszt; the devilish Mephisto Waltz no. 1 and the serene Benediction de Dieu dans la Solitude. A contemporary ballet company, LDT is recognized for innovative, dynamic performances that promise to “awaken your love of dance”!

LDT will join five other dance companies at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. This is the second year that NJPAC is showcasing the incredible diversity of dance in the Garden State with this two-day celebration.
LDT will re-stage Lustig’s “Six Pianos” to music by Graham Fitkin. Originally choreographed for Configuration Dance Theatre, “Six Pianos” is a dynamic work that shows-off the athleticism for which the LDT dancers are known.

Lustig Dance Theatre (LDT) was established in 2010 by internationally recognized choreographer and teacher, Graham Lustig. LDT's mission is to be a vibrant, dynamic organization that awakens the love of dance by performing and educating. The LDT professional company performs at major venues statewide and executes a comprehensive roster of educational programs for schools and community groups. The LDT Dance and Wellness Studio offers classes for all ages and abilities in ballet, hip hop, Pilates, modern, contemporary jazz, Zumba, creative dance, tap and more. Students present an annual year-end performance and have the opportunity to join the LDT Ensemble, a youth performing group. Anyone is welcomed to LDT’s free Fun Fridays, held the third Friday of most months, featuring excerpts from company repertory and student works.
