LIVINGSTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CONCERT TO BENEFIT HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF EFFORTS

LSOflyerLVC

Originally, the opening concert of our season, entitled Great Nationalistic Composers, was to be held November 3, 2012, but Hurricane Sandy had destructive ideas for New Jersey. The ever-present musical spirit and drive of the Livingston Symphony Orchestra was there, but the logistics of no power, no transportation, unsafe roadways, and other horrors of the storm, forced us to cancel the performance. This was only after much deliberation and with much dismay.

Nevertheless, instead of silencing this gorgeous music and lessening our season presentation, Maestro Istvan Jaray and the dedicated musicians of the LSO decided to figuratively spit in the eye of the devastating storm and rose to the occasion to find the time and venue to perform the concert.  Thankfully, through the encouragement and support of the Livingston Board of Education, the school calendar was cleared and the Livingston High School auditorium was reserved for this evening's performance.

There is no charge for admission to this concert. You may contribute whatever amount you wish, and proceeds will be donated to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.  It is their way of giving thanks for having been saved from the devastation of the storm, and helping, in the way they know best, by bestowing the gift of outstanding live musical performance to all.

TICKETS: Free, but donations are much appreciated.
