BRITISH TENOR TAKES ENGLEWOOD BY STORM!

I confess: I love Alfie Boe! He played Jean Valjean in a the 25th anniversary concert version of Les Miz in London, and he has a dynamite CD out. He’s quite a talent (and easy on the eyes, too). You don’t have to go to London to see him. Just trek on up to Englewood:

Alfie Boe TicketsAlfie—the star of Les Miserables and hugely popular tenor—will astound with a diverse collection of classics. Alfie is sure to delight with another truly magical performance.

Alfie Boe was working with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company when he decided to go to music college. He studied at The Royal College Of Music, The National Opera Studio and then the Royal Opera House Young Artists Programme.

When he was at the ROH Young Artists Programme, Alfie was offered one of the leads in Baz Luhrmann’s controversial Broadway production of La Bohème. Alfie was strongly advised not to take the role. He took a leap of faith with Luhrmann and was rewarded with a Tony Award for his performance.

On October 3, 2010 Boe took on the role of Jean Valjean in a concert performance of the musical Les Misérables at the O2 Arena in London to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the show.
