KIDS DRAMA PROGRAM PRESENTS FAIRY TALE MUSICAL

The New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts' Kids On Stage summer program will present Once Upon a Mattress, directed by Corinna Sowers-Adler with musical direction by Terri Gorgone.  Ms. Sowers-Adler's directing credits include Back to the 80's, Children of Eden, Seussical!, 13 The Musical, The Apple Tree and Into the Woods at NJSDA, in addition to having been the children's theatre director for the historic Pocono and Bucks County Playhouses. 

Once Upon A Mattress features 24 teens from local towns.  The cast includes Lauren Barr, Rebecca Lee Lamb and Dean Schansinger of Montclair, Brianna Martinez of Belleville, Sophie Bell, Kelsey Michalak and Amber Smith of Bloomfield, Angelia Mocera and Kiyana Vargas of Clifton, Lilly Baldassare, Jaron Bernard and Aleah Colon-Alfonso of Glen Ridge, Emily Ascherl, China Llanos, Brian Miseo and Dominique Scott of West Orange, Emma Wagner of Maplewood, Jackie Leibowitz of Cedar Grove, Jay Pineda-Pirro of Rutherford, Kevin Bergen of Hawthorne, Gerry Mastrolia of North Haledon, Aliana Kilmer of Towaco, Alysa Bianco of Bayonne, Siobhan Crompton of Maywood and Emma O'Mara of Metuchen.

Founded in 2004, the New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts has provided comprehensive professional acting training for adults, teens and children.  More than 1,200 students – some of whom have gone on to pursue professional acting careers – have taken classes at the school since it opened its doors eight years ago.
