This Broadway musical that starred Danny Kaye with a book by Peter Stone, lyrics by Martin Charmin, & music by Richard Rogers is based on Glifford Odet’s play The Flowering Peach. It tells the story of Noah’s preparation for The Great Flood and it’s aftermath.
On his 600th birthday, Noah receives a message from God, warning him about the impending flood. He is directed to save two of each animal and to build an ark for them. Noah's wife and family make fun of him as he starts to build the ark, but join in when it starts to rain. After completion they invite onboard a pair of each animal on earth to insure the animals’ survival.
The Park Players is a not-for-profit Community Theater Company performing in Bergen and Hudson Counties.
