FARMSTEAD ARTS OFFERS PHOTOGRAPHY & ART WORKSHOPS/CLASSES THIS SUMMER

Farmstead Arts is offering two creative photography workshops by professional photographer Filip Everaert and drawing classes and workshops by artist Susan Antin in June and July.

WHERE: The photography workshops will be held at the Farmstead at 450 King George Road in Basking Ridge.
WHERE: The art classes are being held at the Brick Academy, 15 West Oak Street in downtown Basking Ridge while restoration work is being done on the English Barn and the Farmhouse at the Farmstead this summer.

All classes are open to teen and adults.

filipe_and_group_20120505On Saturday, June 2, and Sunday, June 3, Filip Everaert (left) of Basking Ridge will teach Composition Tricks & Tips photography workshops. Participants will get hands-on experience on how to use lenses, objects, position, and light to improve their creative skills. Each workshop will be from 8 to 11 AM. The cost for one three-hour session is $115. The class size is limited to eight to maximize the experience. All participants will need to bring a camera, full battery, good walking shoes, and rain gear. A tripod is also recommended.

Everaert’s photography show Impressions of Nature Exhibit and Sale is currently at Farmstead Arts through June 16. Gallery hours are 1-4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. There are no gallery hours on Saturday,May 19, or the weekend of May 26-27. The show is free and open to the public. Artist Susan Antin of Basking Ridge is offering a variety of art classes for teen and adults beginning in June. From June 23 through July 28, Antin is offering a six-week Drawing and Mixed Media Class on Saturdays from 10 AM to 12 noon for $175.

She is also offering three new one-day introductory workshops: Drawing Intro on Saturday, June 2; Colored Pencil Drawing on Saturday, June 9; and Contemporary Collage on Saturday, June 16, all from 10 AM to 2:30 PM. The introductory workshops are $90 each, or $245 for all three.
