FIRST WEDNESDAYS AT THE ZIMMERLI

Venice's influence on art from the mid-eighteenth century to the present is the theme of this month's Art After Hours program, which features the short film Venice: Canaletto and His Rivals, a curator-led tour of Two Venetian Masters: Canaletto and Domenico Tiepolo Etchings, and a performance by Venetian vocalist Gudrun Buehler. Buehler and the Anna Mantovani VocalDance Company infuse the tradition of Bel Canto ("beautiful singing") with drama and movement, bringing to life original characters and intriguing vignettes. In celebration of the holiday season, cookie decorating and special discounts in the Museum Store round out the evening. Details are available on their website.

Two Venetian Masters and related programs are made possible by the Arthur Ross Foundation, the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF), The Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation, and donors to the Zimmerli's Annual Exhibition Fund.

The Zimmerli's operations, exhibitions, and programs are funded in part by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey; the Estate of Victoria J. Mastrobuono; the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts; Johnson & Johnson; and the donors, members, and friends of the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum.
