E-mail: 9/12 is a new play by Midge Guerrera that takes place on the day after the horrific events that unfolded in New York City, Washington DC and a field near Shanksville, PA almost ten years ago. The setting is Margaret's home office in rural New Jersey. The play visits that tragic day by way of e-mails that were shared between Margaret and her friends and family.

In the playwright's own words: "Each generation has had defining dates. My parents remembered precisely what they were doing when Pearl Harbor was bombed. My friends and I know exactly where we were when President John F. Kennedy was shot. A new generation will always be able to tell you what they were doing the moment the first plane hit the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. After the tragedy, it took me a while to wend my way home. After hugging my aged Aunt Cat and staring at the fighter jets in a holding pattern directly over our house I sat down at the computer and sent an e-mail to everyone who was dear to me."

E-mail: 9/12 is the emotional journey that ensues through this back-and-forth communications maze of shock, grief, and pain out which we ultimately discover our strength, hope and determination to recover as a nation—all born of a day we will never forget.
