By Theresa Rebeck
Directed by Joseph Porter

WHEN: Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 7 PM; Thursday, Sept. 22, at 7 PM; Callbacks (if needed) Saturday, Sept. 24
WHERE:  Circle Players, 416 Victoria Avenue, Piscataway

Performance dates: Nov. 18 - Dec. 4 with one Sunday matinee on Dec. 4.

Auditioners are asked to arrive and sign in no later than 8 PM

The play is a scathing satire about an ambitious news anchor who is happily drawn into a hostage situation by a seriously disturbed, TV-obsessed fan who loves her. Or maybe he hates her guts. Can those whose primary concern is profit be trusted to tell us the truth, especially when that info is distorted, controlled, withheld or manipulated?

John Moore of the Denver Post wrote, “Rebeck’s tough, twisted comedy is not only a virulent condemnation of the boob tube, but a vibrant depiction of the resultant, numbing malaise it has on an already under-informed populace.”

The director seeks four men between the ages of 25 and 40, and three women between the ages of 20 and 35. Auditioners will be asked to read from the script; sides will be provided.

NOTE: Theresa Rebeck wrote the very funny and mordant God of Carnage.
