Longtime friends Kathy Najimy (Sister Act, Veronica's Closet, Dirty Blonde) and Mo Gaffney (Mad About You, Happy Texas, Absolutely Fabulous) created and starred in the Obie Award winning Off-Broadway production Parallel Lives, which propelled each of them to stardom and critical acclaim. Two award winning HBO specials followed. Their newest Off-Broadway show Afterbirth sold out its six week limited run before the first performance. With great insight, wit and compassion, Kathy and Mo bring a feminist perspective to an incredible variety of male and female characters of all ages in this review of their best work.

In our first multi-book presentation, actors will portray portions of each novel verbatim by a solo actor with a discussion with the audience at the conclusion. Novels include: As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner revolves around a grim yet darkly humorous pilgrimage; Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston is about a proud, independent black woman's quest for identity, a journey that takes her back to her roots; To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee tells of Scout and Jem's childhood and how a series of events shook their innocence and taught them about human nature.

The David Leonhardt Trio, having appeared internationally with some of the biggest names in jazz, is a critically acclaimed acoustic ensemble that plays a blend of mainstream and modern jazz.
