“Gary’s Wine and Marketplace is a fantastic supporter of The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey—these events are a pairing that will please the most discerning sommelier,” said Shakespeare Theatre artistic director Bonnie J. Monte.

“Our first event with the Shakespeare Theatre for The Misanthrope was such an exciting success that we decided we had to do another to kick-off the Fall Season.  To celebrate Othello, we’ll be pouring wines from Italy’s Veneto region, where the play is set,” added Gary Fisch, owner of Gary’s Wine & Marketplace.

Artistic Director Bonnie J Monte directs Othello, which has not been seen on The Shakespeare Theatre stage in nearly a decade.  This epic tale of love, jealousy, and betrayal remains as compelling today as when it first exploded onto the stage in 1604. Often described as Shakespeare's most perfect play, the tragic downfall of the Moor of Venice and his beautiful Desdemona at the hands of the world’s most infamous villain Iago is one of Shakespeare’s most fascinating and heartbreaking tales.
