For the Puffin concert, the Melanie Charles Haitian Quintet will perform music spanning the Haitian Diaspora and featuring arrangements of old traditional Haitian music, original compositions by Monvelyno Alexis and Eddy Bourjolly, both guitarists in the quintet, and Melanie Charles’s own originals. Tiga Jean- Baptiste will play the haunting yet festive traditional Haitian drums and horns as Jonathan Michel rounds out the sound on electric and upright bass. It promises to be a night of music suited for everyone.
