Workshop Led by Judy Brauner, LCSW

To provide support for people grappling with loss and grief, Judy Brauner, LCSW, has been leading bereavement workshops at the JCC for years, creating a comfortable environment where people can share their feelings with others who really understand.

“People benefit greatly from sharing their grief and having their pain acknowledged by others who have been through a similar experience,” says Ms. Brauner. “A good support group allows people to share and bond and make deep and enduring friendships that help them heal. Life doesn’t end after a loss and when people are willing to reach out they frequently find renewed hope and joy—which is the ultimate goal.”

Ms. Brauner, who has been facilitating groups at the JCC for the last 11 years, is a graduate of Columbia and NYU and has maintained a private practice as a psychotherapist in Fort Lee since 1991. She specializes in helping people cope with depression, anxiety and relationship concerns in an effort to assist them transition through their loss and despair so they can regain rich and satisfying lives.

*The Widows/Widowers group will meet for seven Monday evenings, 6:30 – 8 PM,  Uncoupling: Coping with Divorce and Separation will meet Monday evenings, 8:15 – 9:30 PM on the same dates.
