Cousin Brucie - Rock and Roll and The Beat Goes On - Jacket CoverOne of the pioneers of rock & roll radio, Bruce “Cousin Brucie” Morrow witnessed firsthand the birth, growth and growing pains of rock & roll. In his lecture at the Morris Museum, he will discuss the importance of rock & roll in New Jersey and how New Jersey contributed to rock & roll history, taking you back to the roots of this exciting and explosive musical era. After the talk, Cousin Brucie will sign copies of his book, Rock & Roll…And the Beat Goes On, which will be available for purchase at the museum gift shop. The book, written with Rich Maloof, is a retrospective celebrating the rock scene and the events of the 1960s and early 1970s, including artists such as Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and more.

Southside Johnny will be walking the Jersey Rocks exhibition and signing autographs. The exhibition includes several items from and about Southside Johnny, including a signed drumhead, a harmonica and programs and backstage passes. A 50% discount on museum admission will be offered on Friday, May 20 for ticketholders for that night’s performance by Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes at the Community Theatre at Mayo Center for the Performing Arts in Morristown.
