HUNTERDON ART MUSEUM & CHRIS CREE CELEBRATE 10TH ANNUAL SPRING WINE & FOOD TASTING

The Hunterdon Art Museum and New Jersey's only Master of Wine and owner of 56º Wine, Christopher Cree, will present the 10th Annual Spring Wine & Food Tasting, a benefit for the Museum’s exhibitions and education programs.

WHEN: Saturday, May 14, 2:30–6:00 PM
WHERE:
The Hunterdon Art Museum, 7 Lower Center Street, Clinton

The fundraiser will offer a pre-tasting wine seminar, Champagne and Sparkling Wines, led by Chris Cree from 2:30 - 3:30 PM. Cree is one of only 29 individuals in the U.S. and 250 worldwide who have earned the Master of Wine distinction. Seating at the seminar is limited.

"It is said that upon his first taste of champagne, Dom Perignon had quoted, 'Come quickly, I am tasting the stars.' This," said Cree, "is why a celebration isn't a celebration without a glass of champagne. So come and taste the stars with us as we celebrate the occasion of our 10th anniversary with our Champagne and Sparkling Wines seminar."

A walk-around wine & food tasting throughout the Museum's galleries and on its patio will follow from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. More than 75 of the world's greatest wine values featuring a range of wines for the spring and summer season will be available for sampling. "Over the last ten years," said Marjorie Nathanson, Executive Director of the Hunterdon Art Museum, "our wine and food tasting has become the best in the region. It's a spectacular event, and I'm proud that we're celebrating its tenth anniversary."

Participants will also sample delicious food donated by local restaurants and caterers including Chez Alice Catering Company, The Fine Diner, The Garden Gourmet, Metropolitan Seafood Company, and the Perryville Inn. Other contributing businesses include BJ's Wholesale Club, CenturyLink, Kings Super Markets, ShopRite of Hunterdon County, Inc. and Wegmans.

The afternoon will conclude with a raffle drawing. With three chances to win, the tickets are priced at $20 each or 3 for $50. First prize is a mixed case of wine valued at $300. The prize for second and third is a bottle of wine, valued at $50 and $30, respectively. All wine is hand-selected by Chris Cree. Raffle tickets may be purchased at the Museum during regular business hours (Tuesday through Sunday, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm) or at the wine tasting up to the time of the drawing at 5:30 pm. Substitution of the prize is not permitted. Winner must be at least 21 years of age but need not be present to win.

The price per person for both the seminar and tasting is $110 and $60 per person for the tasting only. Payment is due in full with your reservation. No refunds or cancellations. To reserve your glass, go to www.hunterdonartmuseum.org or call 908.735.8415 X110.
