CENTENARY YOUNG PERFORMERS WORKSHOP PRESENT “GYPSY” AND “CAMELOT” AT WINTER FESTIVAL OF SHOWS

Kids love to watch other kids perform. Centenary Stage company’s Young Performers’ Workshop turns out professional performances from talented young actors! This December, they are producing two classics of American Musical Theater: Gypsy and Camelot:

Centenary Stage Company’s Young Performers Winter Festival of Shows

WHEN: December 3-12 
WHERE: Sitnik Theatre, Grand Avenue, Centenary College, Hackettstown

Based on the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, a famous burlesque stripper, Gypsy tells the story of Rose, an overbearing stage mother who is determined to break into the big time by pushing her children into vaudeville theatre. The score of Gypsy was written by Jule Styne with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Gypsy performs Saturday, December 4 @ 1 PM, Sunday, December 5 @ 5 PM, Saturday, December 11 @ 1PM, and Sunday, December 12 @ 7:30 PM.

The timeless story of love and courage in the time of King Arthur is the subject of Lerner and Lowe’s Camelot, which will be performed Saturday, December 4 @ 4 PM, Sunday, December 5 @ 7:30 PM, Saturday, December 11 @ 4 PM, and Sunday, December 12 @ 5 PM.

Both musicals are directed and choreographed by program director Michael Blevins, a Broadway veteran who appeared in several Broadway productions including Bring Back Birdie, Little Me and The Tap Dance Kid.
