VENERABLE DOVER LITTLE THEATRE OPENS ITS 78th SEASON!

Dover Little TheatreThis theater troupe is another one of those community theaters that has been around for what seems like forever! I love these companies: they give drama aficionados a chance to do their thing—on stage or off—and they give folks a chance to experience the magic of the theater for very little money. It’s a great way to introduce your children to theater, and to remind you why you love it!

Dentist DLT In the late 1800s, Russia’s preeminent literary doctor, Anton Chekhov, wrote humorous newspaper articles to pay for medical school. Neil Simon, Broadway’s master of comedy, elegantly weaves eight of Chekhov’s stories into a laugh-out-loud vaudeville experience, complete with tricky con artists, ridiculous slapstick and much, much more! In one sketch a harridan storms a bank and upbraids the manager for his gout and lack of money. In another, a father takes his son to a house where he will be initiated into the mysteries of sex. And In yet another, a crafty seducer goes to work on a wedded woman. The stories are droll, the portraits affectionate, the humor infectious and the fun unending!
