VIDEO INSTALLATION OPENS AT PRINCETON ART MUSEUM

Doug Aitken: Migration (Empire)

WHEN: August 28 through November 14, 2010
WHERE: Princeton Art Museum Lawn

Doug Aitken's monumental video installation Migration (Empire) (2008) will be on view on the Museum's front lawn this fall, the first time an exhibition of video art has been presented outside the Museum.

Migration (Empire) poignantly reflects on the experience of migration, a subject steeped in American history, as well as on challenges to the natural environment. Projected onto a custom-designed billboard, calling to mind the highways that gave birth to the motel (a setting for many of the scenes in this extraordinary work of art), the video will be on view from dusk to 11:00 PM every evening.
